Last week was a somewhat normal week. We played Clemson at home Thursday and went to Georgia Tech on Sunday. We came out victorious in both games and we stand undefeated in ACC play. The reason I said last week was normal was because it did not involve saving someone’s life. It was just a basic week of studying and playing basketball.

Saturday before we left for Georgia Tech, a few Nike representatives came to our locker room to fit us for next season. Jill Stanton, Vice President of Global Apparel for the Nike brand, had demo uniforms in different sizes for us to try on. She also brought different travel suits for us to try on as well. What was funny about the travel suit situation was the fact that they brought a standard large for everyone to try on.

Jill was very fun to be around. She brings a lot of high energy and seemed to enjoy watching us try on different sizes. It was like she worked for Nordstrom and when we walked out she would be like, “Yes! That looks perfect on you.” I was enjoying her comments because most of the time they were very funny.

This week I already have had two exams and two papers due. If I could sum my life up right now, it would have two words in it, books and basketball. The good thing is, the exams I had were really not that bad and I was prepared for both. The papers that were due were very simple and it is always easier to do something when you enjoy doing it.

We leave for Virginia on Thursday. I am sure everyone knows what Thursday is! It is definitely a top-five holiday for women and probably the least favorite for all men - that’s right, Valentine’s Day. What girl, lady, or woman doesn’t love receiving a fluffy teddy bear and a box of chocolates? All I have to say is, Mason you better get to work along with all the other guys out there who wait until the last minute.

It’s getting close to tournament time for everyone and the time is already here for quizzes and tests. Keep up with your work ethic and even more when it comes to your studies. Now is not the time to put it on cruise control. So, keep working just as hard as you were in the beginning and your good results are sure to show. If you get comfortable with where you are now, I can guarantee somebody else is out there working harder than you.

Until next time, stay cool and keep ballin’ ya’ll!
