Posted Sun, 08/05/2007 - 11:54 Maya Moore has another all-around performance as the USA wins gold at the FIBA U19 World Championships.

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia - Maya Moore had 19 points, 13 rebounds and six assist as the USA's superior athleticism led it to a 99-57, gold-medal triumph over Sweden at the FIBA U19 World Championships.

Moore, of Suwanee, Ga., and a freshman at Connecticut, also scored 24 points against Spain in the semifinals. The two-time Naismith winner and No. 1 player in the 2007 class, according to HoopGurlz.com, finished as the U.S.'s leading scorer with 16.3 points in nine games.

Serbia won the bronze medal with a 52-50 victory over Spain.

The U.S., which finished 9-0 in the tournament, also got 19 points in the championship game from Monica Wright, a sophomore at Virginia. Jantel Lavender, of Cleveland, Ohio, and a freshman at Ohio State, added 15 points and finished as the Americans' leading rebounder with 8.1 per game.

Led by three from Angie Bjorklund of Spokane, Wash., a freshman at Tennessee, the U.S. made eight of 17 three-pointers against the Swedes.
