Miami was everything I thought it would be! I can't even begin to describe how large this city was. We stayed in Biscayne Bay and my room had a beautiful view of the city. Right outside of the hotel was a marina and yacht center that was filled with speed boats and fishing boats. I could look out my window and it was like you could see all of Miami as it seemed to circle around our little island. If I could describe the view in one word, it would be amazing.

As you venture off to what ever college or university you choose, when it comes to away games you will notice something very quickly. There is a pattern to every away game and most of the time it does not include touring the city you are in. You get there at night, sleep, wake up for breakfast, shoot around, pre game lunch then play the game and leave. So, you really don't get to see much of anything but your room, but hey you can say you have been there. We played North Carolina State on Monday and came out with another big win.

After defeating Miami and N.C. State, we stand 13-0 in conference play with our last game coming against Duke. This time the game is at Carmichael (where we play our home games), it's senior night, and it is another Duke and UNC matchup, which always proves to be a good one. From what I have heard, this game has been sold out since last Friday and we play them this coming Sunday. I am very excited for our seniors because they have meant so much to our team. Each one has played a significant role and they all are great teammates.

I know that it is coming down to the last couple of months of everyone's seasons and, for some of you, your high school careers. It seemed like yesterday that I was getting ready to start the district tournament at Scott County and now I am about to start ACC tournament play. It goes by faster than you know it and it seems cliché but Kenny Chesney put it best: Don't blink!

There are a lot of things about high school that I can remember really well now and hope I never forget. A record setting game against Fern Creek my senior year is something I will never forget. That game set a Kentucky state record for the most points scored in a game with no overtime. The score was 108 to 107, we won and I had my career high of 53 points. Then breaking Scott County's scoring record (for boys or girls) on my senior night with 2,907 points was also incredible. One of the largest honors I received was becoming the Kentucky Miss Basketball in 2007 and it was simply an amazing experience. There are so many things that happen to you right now that seem so small at the time, but I guarantee if you look back when you're older, it will be something that you are very proud of.

The friends and teammates you have now, you might never see again unless you are staying close to home. Take these last couple of months and cherish them because they are the best years of your life.

As high school and collegiate athletes, we really don't know how easy we have it right now. Everything is given to us and all we have to do is make it work. Then the real world hits and all the sudden it's time to really grow up. So, don't wish these time by because they really are something special and memories you will never forget.

It is a very special and exciting time of the year and I am sure everyone is ready to get March Madness started. It almost feels like March Madness now especially with the atmosphere that the UNC vs. Duke game offers. We are very excited for this game and for our seniors. I will make sure that do everything I can to make sure they come out on top.

Until next time, stay cool and keep ballin’ ya’ll!
